Our Terms of Business

SBSCharging Structure

Any costs referenced in this document are exclusive of VAT. We reserve the right to change these charges at any time, however prior notice will be given.

Our normal working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am to 6pm. These hours are chargeable at our standard hourly rate unless otherwise expressly agreed. We prioritise call outs from our existing service customers.
Outside normal working hours, after 6pm and before 9am, is chargeable at a premium rate. Bank Holidays are also chargeable at premium rate. We will only attend outside of normal working hours where this has been previously agreed or as a priority / emergency call out.
Labour is charged in increments of half an hour at the appropriate rate, with a minimum 1 hour charge applicable during normal working hours.

A minimum of 2 hours is chargeable for a call-out out with normal working hours, after 6pm during the week, bank holidays and weekend at the appropriate rate.

Reasonable travel time is chargeable for every call out unless we are already on site.

Quotations provided by SBS Ltd are fully inclusive of all costs noted above. Nothing further will be payable unless prior agreement for additional works have been made. Furthermore, we make every effort to ensure estimates are broadly representative of the final works cost. Should this not be the case we will confirm agreement to this variation in costs prior to continuing works.

Where prior arrangements have been made to allow access on site that are subsequently not honoured, an abortive visit rate will be charged if no access is gained. We reserve the right to additionally charge for travel, milage and waiting time.

 

Our Guarantee

All our work is guaranteed for a full 12 months from completion. Kitchens and bathrooms normally carry a 5 year warranty, please check with our staff / terms of contract for further details.

We strive to maintain an extremely high standard in everything we do, in the very unlikely event you find a problem with any works we have undertaken please contact us immediately so that we can have this rectified as a matter of urgency. All warranty work is free of charge and completed without delay.

Do please note that if we are unable to identify a material fault or we find a fault that has been caused by neglect, damage or misuse, and no fault is found with our original works/parts, the cost of repair will be chargeable.

 

Mileage and Parking
 
Due to extraordinary fuel prices SBS Ltd reserve the right to charge for mileage and where applicable, any parking charges will be passed on to the client.

 

Materials
 
Due to the extensive range of equipment we work with, our engineers carry limited spare parts stock. We will endeavour to locate or source parts as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Carriage, or the labour time and mileage to collect spares would be chargeable.
All reasonable attempts will be made to gain approval for material purchases before they are ordered or collected.
Where further works are identified as a result of a call out, the initial visit and any additional works may be invoiced separately.
The company ‘SBS Ltd’ will charge for labour (at the current day work rate) to replace any parts fitted which are proved to its satisfaction to be defective by reason of faulty manufacture, but shall not be liable for damage, direct or consequential loss of trade, arising out, or as a result, of any service defect in part or parts.

 

Force majeure

SBS Ltd shall not be held liable for any result of the negligence or malfeasance of a party, which has a materially adverse effect on its ability to perform its obligations. Nor shall we be held responsible for factors impacting any of our work that are out with our control. These include, but are not limited to; Acts of war, flood, lightning, hail, snow, criminal acts, storm damage, pandemic or epidemic. Please note that as a duty of care, should an extraordinary event or situation arise on site out with our scheme of works, such that damage would be caused by our lack of intervention, we would act to mitigate the owners' costs / loss at the appropriate rate.

We are always happy to extend credit terms to new and existing customers, please ask for details.

Credit terms notice
For the avoidance of doubt and unless otherwise stated, SBS Ltd terms are upon receipt. We understand and will exercise our statutory right to interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms. Furthermore we reserve the right to charge i) an administration fee in handling late payments ii) any costs incured chasing payment through third party organisations.
