We think the most important part of renting out a property is ensuring its continued maintenance both for your tenants and the general condition of the property. Failing to maintain blocked gutter, for instance, can lead to problems with Mould and Damp, which pose a serious health risk in the house.
Trying to keep on top of property maintenance can become a burden when you are not local or require tools / trades to carry out the work.
SBS provide a general upkeep service to landlords and letting agents including survey and preventative repair of; Roofs and loft space, Masonry, Woodwork, Rainwater and Foul water goods, plumbing, wiring and electrical goods testing (PAT), fence and chimney health.
When things fail completely the cost of repair is often much higher than the preventative repair work. For example, if the flaunching on a chimney (the mortar that holds the chimney pot in place) has failed a strong wind can bring the chimney pot down, and they're bigger than they look!
When it comes to water in and around your house; Plumbing and sealants, gutters and roof tiles all fail over time, some faster than others. Checking the condition of these before they fail can save significant damage, inconvenience and repair costs.
